Since 1991,
University of Georgia professor Milton Masciadri has organized the International Double Bass Symposium, inviting fellow double bass players from around the world to the Hugh Hodgson School of Music for this annual event which is held on the first weekend in February.
The symposium is an event for all levels of proficiency from beginners to professional performers, and attracts the highest caliber of clinicians from the world over. Over three days, participants enjoy intensive master classes and recitals, culminating every night with a performance by Symposium artists.
